"I work primarily with found pencil on cheap paper and harvested images. The ‘Wallace’ being my first foray I wanted to explore Paul’s nature and genetic makeup with imaginative observation. The work comprises a behaviour description and notes augmented by an image on a commemorative issue stamp from the star trek series.
Through the narrative I invite the viewer to morph familiar sci fi characters with those born of a time when anarchy was a statement and choice. The recent past clashing with a distant future
What happens when a punk is infused with a Betazoid empath with telepathic powers. What happens when a Betazoid is invaded by a punk fuk the system do it yourself ethos.
The commemorative stamp represents security, currency. It’s fiscal worth exchanged for trust - our emotive cargo will be delivered with all the hopes, the dreams and contents intact.
